Cleaning and disinfection

Before setting up new farrowing pens, a thorough cleaning and disinfection should be carried out to reduce the bacterial load. After soaking, cleaning is best carried out with warm water and cleaning agents to make it easier to remove fats and proteins.

The choice of disinfectant should be based on the farm-specific microbial flora. The use of DVG-listed products is recommended.
