Interactive calculation and information system for animal husbandry methods
InKalkTier" web application
How can sustainable husbandry methods be compared in terms of animal welfare, ammonia and odour emission potential and investment costs? This is what "InKalkTier" - the "Interactive calculation and information system for animal husbandry methods" - is all about.
InKalkTier is a KTBL web application that can be accessed free of charge, in which husbandry methods for cattle, pigs, chickens and turkeys are described from a structural and technical perspective and evaluated in terms of animal welfare, ammonia and odour emission potential and investment costs.
With InKalkTier, you can find out about modern husbandry methods as a farmer or as an employee of an advisory organisation, a planning office or an authority. InKalkTier can also be used for training and studies.
The web application offers a comparison mode, an export function and user interactions. The latter allows the husbandry methods to be changed within a predefined framework. The assessment is then recalculated in real time. In the comparison mode, the animal welfare, emission potential and investment costs of several husbandry methods of one production method can be compared with each other.
Another part of the web application is the Infothek. Here you will find information on animal husbandry and emission-reducing measures. The assessment methods for animal welfare, emission potential and investment costs are explained in detail and transparently.
The project was funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) on the basis of a decision by the German Bundestag. The project sponsor was the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) as part of the Federal Livestock Farming Programme.
