In times of ASF and FMD, protecting livestock farms from the introduction of pathogens is more important than ever. A key element of the biosecurity measures that protect your pig herd from biological threats is a properly functioning hygiene sluice. However, simply installing the airlock does not in itself protect against the introduction of animal diseases. A hygiene airlock can only fulfil its purpose if all staff use it correctly and the prescribed measures have become an integral part of their daily work routine. To serve as a daily reminder of the measures and to explain them, the Fokus Tierwohl network has designed a comic strip as a barn poster.
