An outbreak of tail-biting in a large group presents a major challenge for livestock farmers. At the same time, however, keeping animals in large groups also offers a number of key advantages. In this video from the Fokus Tierwohl network, methods are demonstrated for successfully managing tail-biting incidents in a large group. To this end, Gabriele Mörixmann shows her active housing system, in which the pigs have maximum freedom of choice.
