Downer cow syndrome – what should you do?
If a cow is diagnosed with downer cow syndrome, it’s an emergency! In an interview, Dr Theresa Scheu from the Teaching and Research Centre for Livestock Farming at Hofgut Neumühle explains how farmers should respond correctly in such an emergency and what is important during rescue and care to free the animal from its predicament as gently as possible.
